My Newest Jewelry Hobby

I found a tutorial online with directions on how to crochet necklaces out of wire. With my sis-in-law's help, we figured it out and I really love the look of them. They dress up a sweater or plain top and are very pretty and trendy for today's look. They can be made with 24 or 26 gauge wire using a simple crochet stitch and a large crochet hook. The size and length can be adjusted a bit depending on the looseness of your stitch as well as squeezing the wires tighter. These necklaces are very pliable and so much FUN! My next attempt is making lacy looking necklaces to go along with the whimsey earrings made out of trellis yarn. Stay tuned and if you need directions on how to make these, please ask. The necklaces are $25.00 each. I hope to figure out a pattern for bracelets to match and would also design earrings with the same colored beads if desired.

Dec. 8, 2011 My Sis, Mary, came over to show me how to create the crocheted necklace to match the "Whimsey Earrings" made with Trellis Yarn...They are so much fun and lightweight yet add a bit of elegance to a sweater or plain shirt.. Below are photos of her finished project. All it takes is measuring and crocheting a straight stitch to make this lovely necklaces. I made one just like it in an evening. It just takes patience and perseverance to work with lattice yarn.

Holy Family Snow Angel Craft Fair- Nov 19, 2011

This was our second (My sis, Carol & I) Craft Fair at this festival! It was very successful and is always a lot of fun. Next year I plan to incorporate more art as individual and unusual art projects seem to go better and there is always so much jewelry! My sis created some beautiful Adirondack signs and mirrors which were very popular and I am so very proud!!!! I added some new designs with jewelry and photo cards this year as well as gift baskets which made for good holiday gift-giving for hostess parties and teacher gifts. I also created some crocheted Trellis Yarn earrings which are very lightweight and whimsical which seemed to catch the eye of the younger generation.
