My Hubby

This is Mr. Beau Jangles "Beau", My 90 year old, mom's beloved Pug, who we all adore. This photo won the Current Magazines animal photo in "Birthday Cards"and will be among others in a card pack in the fall. Special thanks to my sister who helped with the hat and prepping him for his debut photo.

The front of the card will read "Kick Up Your Heels"...Inside, "It's your birthday!"

This is a photo that won a blue ribbon & the "Edna Hill Award" (over-all best photo) at our local Franklin County Fair. I enjoy my flowers so much and wa sso happy this one took the prize! 

This photo is very special to me of my brother, Ron, who passed away a few years ago. Although it isn't the best quality, sometimes it's the message a photo gives that's most important. This one reminds me of my bro very much as he loved to cook and share his special treats. We were picnicking during the forth of July and this is his masterpiece! I love and miss you so, Ronnie!!!

GREETING CARDS USING COPIES OF WATERCOLOR ART

The following cards are some spring and summer designs I've been working on for greeting cards. I paint the original watercolor, scan it, and make blank and occasion cards.

SUMMER DESIGNS~2012

I've been experimenting with different yarns and colored wires and am going to attempt a bracelet next out of the trellis yarn and beads..Will be posting depending how they turn out.
I'm also going to make some baby barrettes for my soon-to-be granddaughter...Stay tuned..There's never a dull moment when I get in my artsy mood.


This is a design I decided to try using only one crocheted wire strand and incorporating larger beads for a delicate yet modern look.


A triple wired crocheted necklace using various blue beads and black wire with matching earrings..



Aqua Bead & Earring Wire crocheted set.



An Owl,a key & a telephone are three of the six intricate charms having from an oval circle on this leather necklace. Simple and fun to wear with a casual top.

Every color of the rainbow! These sell for  $15.00 each, are light and whimsical and look great if you want to dress up a plain sweater or top!

This is a beaded necklace with clear aqua stones using silver accents and touched off with a gorgeous dragonfly.

Modeling jewelry, or anything for that matter, isn't my forte but this is an example how they look warn with a top:

Here's something I enjoy doing after I've completed making jewelry to unwind...I recommend it highly-(as long as one doesn't overdo! :) Hey,we all need a little reward on occasion.

Crocheted Wire Jewelry

I found some beautiful beads and colored wire just over the border in Canada at a little store there. The prices were great so I decided to make a few more necklace sets. It truly helps make these long winter days go by faster! Below are some in different colors and designs:

I experimented crocheting with a different type of yarn and think it turned out pretty cool and whimsical. The earrings almost look like feathers which is quite the rage now with the younger gals:

It's nice to see how my jewelry looks on but one can only look at my mug so long... Here's a LOVELY model...but oh, so hard to pin her down..She is wearing the crocheted wire here:

Instructions For Making Trellis Necklaces

Items needed: 1 crochet hook, size: N, M, or P (I didn’t have these sizes, so I used a K and crocheted very loosely) 1 ball (Lion Brand) Trellis Ribbon, (see note below) 1 3/4 oz. ball, 50 grams/115 yards (you will be able to get 3-4 necklaces from one ball of ribbon) There are 3 sizes of necklaces: Small, Medium and Large; chose the size that best fits your neck. (the one in the photo is Large) The only stitch used will be Chain Stitch Cut 7 strips of ribbon in the following sizes: SMALL: (about 12 inches long) Cut 2 strips-2 yards, plus 4 inches long Cut 2 strips-1 yard, plus 33 inches long Cut 3 strips-2 yards long ———————————— MEDIUM: (about 14 inches long) Cut 2 strips-2 yards, plus 22 inches long Cut 2 strips-2 yards, plus 15 inches long Cut 3 strips-2 yards, plus 18 inches long ———————————– LARGE: (about 16 inches long) Cut 2 strips-3 yards, plus 4 inches long Cut 2 strips-2 yards, plus 33 inches long Cut 3 strips-3 yards long ———————————– Measure 12 inches of one strip and begin chaining at that point. Work in chain stitch until you come to within 12 inches of the end; pull ribbon through last chain to finish. Lay this piece aside and work the remaining ribbons in the same manner: start chaining at the 12-inch mark and chain to 12-inches from the end. When all 7 of the strips have been crocheted, bring them all together, lining up the places where you began to chain stitch. When they are smooth, tie the ribbons together about 2-inches from where you began the chain stitch. Do the same at the other end of your strips; tying a knot about 2-inches from the end of the chain stitch. Bring the two knots together and then tie the ends together, making your knot as close to the end of the strips as you can and still get them into the knot. You may want to trim the ends if they are uneven. To knot, simply make a loop and pull the ends through the loop and pull tight. For a different effect, you can twist the 7 strands together before tying the knot at the end. These necklaces are light-weight, soft and pick up the colors you are wearing.

I'd also like to share this tutorial I found. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QZMh1YqX8GE The instructor gives simple easy instructions on how to make beautiful Crocheted necklaces out of wire..They are very easy and fun. I also created a bracelet using the same method only starting with crocheting in the beads and

leaving a two inch end on each end for tying off and adding clasps. Earrings can be made to match for a set. They're really pretty, fun and different. Below is a photo of a three piece set I made in only a few hours:
